Job Description:

Applies basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices to assigned tasks in the design, development, analysis and release of products and subsystems through the product life cycle. Assists in creating design specifications considering application, cost, weight, performance, product life, manufacture, assembly and service. Verifies design using analysis and or functional testing, interperates results, drives decisions and assesses risk. Works with other engineering disciplines and cross-functional disciplines to resolve product issues. Evaluates customer needs and aligns requirements with identified customer expectations.  Applies engineering and/or scientific skills to technical processes with support from experienced team members.Participates as a team member, helps define/refine methods and actively contributes towards team goals. Carries out engineering responsibilities using accepted methods and practical experience.Demonstrates good understanding and applies knowledge of an engineering discipline.Continues to develop capability to create engineering solutions through training and experience

BE/BTech(Mech)Min. Graduate in Mechanical Engineering with relevant experience of 2 - 5 years in diesel engine industry.Good understanding of Diesel Engine systems and components.Good understanding of castings and foundry practices, forging and forging machining and metallurgical evaluations.Understanding of various machining and manufacturing methods pertaining to engine components.Engineering drawing and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing along with design aspectShould be well versed with FMEA, DFM / DFAUnderstanding of design basics, costs, performance and manufacturability trade off.Exposure to Pro/E, ANSYS will be an added advantage. Candidate should possess good oral and written communication skills and must be a team player with strong conflict management skills.Would require to visit shop floor and suppliers manufacturing facility hence good eyesight, hearing and physical fitness is essentialSupport Shop Operations in day-to-day problem solving.Work in teams to:Review & Resolve Quality related problems on timeCorrect/Improve Manufacturing/Assembly problemsImplement Cost reductionsSupport release of new products in the plant as well as for world wide usageRe-design, decide test plans and release product improvements to meet the needs of the customer.Participate in the New Product Introduction processes.Engineering Support to Shop Operations, Quality and Purchase/Sourcing for day-to-day problem solving.Implementation of Cost reduction projects.Engineering Support for release of new products in the plant as well as for worldwide usageRe-design, decide test plans and release product improvements to meet the needs of the customer.Engineering Support for New Product Introduction.
